ohh this tongue!

‘’Hey Jim!’’ called out a colleague, ‘’Thank you so much for the invite, the party is sure rocking! Though it has very strange & weird people…like that woman over there, Hahaha, she is the definition of weird!’’

‘’That woman over there is my wife.’’ Jim stated.

The Bible tells us about the tongue – Proverbs 18:21 says what you say can mean life or death. Those who speak with care will be rewarded.
Even in the book of James which mainly guides us on how to live as good Christians, Chapter 3:1-12 talks largely about the tongue. I think it is especially Verses 6 & 8 that tell us the dangers of this tongue; 6The tongue is like a fire. It is a whole world of evil among the parts of our bodies…it starts a fire that influences all of life. 8…it is wild and evil and full of deadly poison.

I admire people who know how to hide their feelings…people who pretend to be ok when razors are cutting away at heart or as the Bible puts it; people who speak with care or people who do not speak at all. I respect these people. Then here comes yours truly, who will not hold back anything…but say it as is at that moment. No sugar coating whatsoever.

I have not been serving, sharing or reaching out to others for some time now because, the universe brought into my life an amazing individual. It is true time is indeed a blink of an eye when you are having so much fun and before I knew it; no more church, I cannot remember the last time I knelt down to pray, or listened and encouraged someone in my church circles.

I like this amazing individual in every way but we both knew it was wrong right from the start. So because of this, I couldn’t continue serving my God. I knew a day would come when I had to choose between God & my amazing individual!
And I did. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the heart to face my amazing individual but I spoke down my heart and sent it through. I do not know if I spoke with care, I do not know if my words were not full of deadly poison. Nonetheless, I do not know if my amazing individual can ever forgive me. Tambura.

There are moments in life no matter with how much care you may speak, the words will still cut deep into someone’s heart or bring tears down their face; an apology from the bottom of thy heart may not cut it either. There is damage.
And it is this same tongue that glorifies the Lord, that compliments, that encourages, that builds egos, that does so much good…
But in the end, do good and bad water flow from the same spring? Can a fig tree make olives or can a grapevine make figs? Hmmm.
